Scottish Institute of Reflexology
Research Introduction
Aim
The aim of this area of the web site is to gather together as much of the available published reflexology research as possible for your information, keep our members up to date with any current research being undertaken, and to advise you of any planned future research.
At present there is very little in the way of published research in reflexology and the quality of the work is quite variable. As a professional organisation we are very aware that in order for reflexology to become a more widely accepted and understood complementary therapy within the medical profession and to enhance public confidence and awareness, good quality research is vital.
The SIR is therefore keen to establish a research programme and we are currently working towards this. However, although research can be done by all of us, there are time and money constraints and this can often mean that research takes a long time to be published.
There are many ways that we can all contribute to the research base at the SIR –
Relevant Publications – please email with details of any relevant Reflexology articles you come across and we will gladly add them to our Library page.
By completing and sending us your Case Study Summary Sheets – these are invaluable in building up an empirical and anecdotal evidence base.
By completing and sending us your Yellow Forms which document any adverse reactions your client may have during treatments.
By seeking funding and undertaking your own research studies.
But What is Research?
Should you have any questions, or information you would like to pass on, we are always happy to hear from you, please contact us on info@scottishreflexology.org
