Scottish Institute of Reflexology
Your reflexologist
You should ensure that your reflexologist has a qualification recognised by an organisation belonging to the Reflexology Forum. Your reflexologist should follow the organisation’s code of ethics and practise and should have public liability insurance.
Your reflexologist will not diagnose (although she or he will be able to tell you where there is any congestion in the body), will not prescribe medicines or alter prescribed medicines and treatments that you are currently receiving.
Your Reflexologist will not use any implements during the treatment.
At your initial consultation your reflexologist will ask you to complete a Client Information sheet, which contains questions about your health, presenting condition and current medication.
Whilst reflexology is an extremely safe therapy and there are few contra indications, there are some circumstances when care should be taken.
The treatment will be holistic and client confidentiality will be respected.
