Scottish Institute of Reflexology
Quarterly Editorial
Dear Reader,
Well here we are, half way through the year. The first six months of 2007 seem to have flown by. June is my birthday month so I will be older and hopefully wiser by the time we reach July. This year will also be the 20th birthday for the Scottish Institute of Reflexology so book early for a nostalgia trip at the AGM in September and, if you are unable to make it, look forward to the September edition of Footnotes which will be dedicated to our anniversary.
I have been lucky enough to have been involved in two sound journey sessions recently which I found fascinating and enriching experiences. If this is new to you, as it was to me, you can learn more from Fiona McLaren, one of the people involved, in her article “Sacred Sound Therapy” in this edition.
The theme for June is kidneys and you will find a wide range of related information on everything from kidney stones to the Chinese Medicine associations with the kidney meridian. You will also find some tips for Using Reflexology on the “Water-Works” from kindly supplied by Douglas Bell.
Susan Hamilton, our webmaster and I have been busy updating and revamping the Footnotes section of the website, so why not take a visit and let me know what you think and what you would like to see in the future.
And finally, you may notice from the diary of events that world reflexology week is not far away. Yes I know it’s not till September but if you are organizing and advertising an event it will be upon you before you know it so get your thinking caps on and promote reflexology and yourself this year.
Enjoy this edition and remember to get in touch with your memories of the SIR in time for our birthday celebration.
Best wishes to you all
Louise
